Q: How do I take books out?
A: You will need your university card. Simply scan your card's barcode into the self-issue computer on the entrance level by placing the card under the laser beam. Then place the book you want to take out on the panel labelled 'Place book here' on the desk immediately in front of the screen. Repeat for every book that you want to take out. When you have finished, make sure you tap 'Log out' on the screen. This will make the system revert to the welcome screen, and prevents anyone else inadvertently issuing a book to you!
If for any reason the computer is down - this is rare - then please use the clipboard to the right of the computer to write down the details of the book you are borrowing, and we will update the system when it comes back up.
